HYPE
Arcade Made are an unsigned band from Australia, you can find their tracks for free download on their Triple J Unearthed page. They remind me of early Bloc Party, spliced with Tokyo Police Club, and a hint of Foals. This is obviously a great combo, and having such strong material at such an early age can only mean good things, so check them out.

Dan Whitford (Cut Copy) and one the dudes from now defunct Riot In Belgium have a new side project called Voltage. It sounds like a natural extension of their current style, no surprises and it certainly won't change your life, but it's nice to see some new stuff from both of them.

Mystery Jets' new album, Serotonin, is certainly a grower. It's definitely not as good as the mindblowing Twenty One, but it'd be damn near supernatural for lightning to strike twice. Do yourself a favour and listen to it at least a few times before you make your mind up. Here's the title track.

Memory Tapes remixed a track from Crystal Castles' new album. I find that most of his remixes sound roughly the same, but this one ends up sounding like an alternate version rather than a remix. Certainly not a bad thing though, it just means if you loved the original you'll likely enjoy this rework as well.

Cloud Nothings have this cool Lo-Fi Surf-Rock sound that I'm really liking. They are a bit more upbeat and poppy than the other artists that are operating in the same genre description right now. Really happy vibes to this one, even though it's about break-up.

The Drums' album was a fairly predictable affair. While there's not a single bad track on it, it all just felt a bit too "safe" for my liking. However, one could argue that this is far worse than the album being completely rubbish, and in some ways, it might be. Regardless, here's a bonus track from the album.

Tokyo Police Club's second album, Champ, surprisingly does not suck. One of the few 2010 sophomores that not only didn't disappoint, but really caught me by surprise. Check out Bambi, that riff is ridonkulous. To think I wasn't even going to bother with this album makes me glad I second guessed myself.

Underworld were responsible for that massive club hit Born Slippy .NUXX (.NUXX was the version with vocals you iTunes tagging savages; make the correction now) way back when. You may remember it from the closing scene of Trainspotting, or maybe not, but if you youtube it or something you'll have one of those "Ohhhh, this song!" moments. This is their new song and it's really catchy, reminds me a lot of the Skins Theme by Segal, which is a great thing.

FASHIONABLY LATE
oOoOO is exactly what I'm looking for these days. NoSummr4u has that sort of hopeless emptiness that makes you want to lie in bed all day with the curtains closed. It's the other side of the nostalgia coin, one oft left out in favour of the sunny carefree surf-pop nostalgia that everyone has finally discovered again. I'm very late to the party with this one, I know.

Circle Pit are an awful looking, rubbish sounding, can't-sing-for-shit sort of band. Think Wavves/Girls/The rawer side of The Vines, and you'll know what to expect. They are apparently signed to Modular Records now, but Modular Records hasn't made it known at all, not sure why.
Another Trick is a cool summery garage-surf-rock track, I can imagine hipster couples passing it between each other on cassette mix tapes and remarking on how "ok" it sounds.
Infinity is a slow-jam style love song with this hazy wash over sparse instrumental work. Infinity is the most laid-back song on the album (which is, depending on your tolerance for harsh, raw, garage rock; really quite good).

Tex Taiwan are the latest in what is nearing a fucking battalion of Crystal Castles copycats. They've skewed more in a HEARTSREVOLUTION direction however, in that this stuff makes you feel like you're in a Hypercolourbubblegumrobotkitten party in Japan (Where I can only imagine there is a huge market for this sort of music), rather than wanting to kill yourself; as the Canadian duo does.
Won't blow your mind, but it will certainly keep you entertained for two and a half minutes.

I've had a weird response to this song. First impressions I had were extremely positive, and then I started to think that the rest of the song was lacking compared to the amazing opening. Now I've jumped back to thinking it's fucking cool. I'll let you make your own mind up. Personally I am liking Breakbot a whole lot more when he adds vocals to his work.
So yeah, I may have held onto this song for a tad too long, making it old news, but if you haven't heard it do yourself a favour right now.
